Do Valentine's, but with your BFF- Indulge in the ritual of getting ready, wear that new outfit, and partake in the special Valentine's Day tasting menu.
Throw a Single's party- Toast to your independence with all your single friends. A dance party and pretty pink rosé cocktails are a guarantee you'll be filled with love way past the 14th.
Have a Sex and the City marathon- Binge watch the show that gave us the quote, “Maybe we can be each other's soul mates. And then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with.” Preach Charlotte! Bonus points if you wear cute PJs and order pizza.
Ridin' Solo
Volunteer- Share the love by helping others in need. Look up local soup kitchens and give someone a warm meal and a smile. Or, if you love animals more than people, find a shelter that'll let you play with some furry friends.
Splurge on the trendy workout class you've been dying to try- Remember, "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands." Maybe you have less sinister plans this Valentine's Day, but who doesn't love an extra boost and glow from a sweat sesh?
Take a solo trip- Plan a sweet escape to a place that you thought should be reserved for travel with an S.O. Because you're worth it regardless of your relationship status. A more budget-friendly option would be to spend the day exploring another part of town. Wander around, indulging every whim from that cappuccino at a sidewalk cafe to blouse at the vintage store a few doors down.
Happy Valentine's Day! We LOVE you!
On the flip side, it's not all sugar plums, rainbows, watching Elf on repeat. Some people are HARD to shop for! This can be as disheartening as Buddy finding out his dad was on the Naughty List. Poor guy. Mix that in with dizzying mall traffic, never-ending lines in which you are stuck behind Karen. And yes, she wishes to speak to a manager.
Although, all hope is not lost. That's because we bring you our Life Clothing Co. Holiday Shopping Guide! Here you'll find something for everyone, or maybe if you've been extra good this year, even yourself.
For the luxe bohemian - Willow Faux Fur Kimono
You won't catch this one in just a hoodie and jeans. In fact, they'd probably dress nicer during the apocalypse than most people would for a night out. The faux fur takes this classic bohemian closet staple into a luxurious stand-out for anything from catching up with hometown friends and holiday parties alike.
For the modern hippie - Kayla Tie-Dye Bells
Do you know someone who believes they were born in the wrong era? For the person that is the epitome of peace, love, and rock n' roll, look no further than the Kayla Tie-Dye Bells. Gift the pants that are as colorful as they are, and some of that love will definitely be coming your way.
For the jet setter - Black Rylee Lace Maxi Dress
She's always on the go, and the holidays are no exception. This maxi dress is perfect for the girl who isn't hanging with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows in front of a crackling fireplace. Instead, she's on the shores of some exotic locale. The closest she's getting to frostbite is a brain freeze from a frozen margarita.
For the free spirit - Kiss The Moon Art Canvas
If their style screams "Boho Babe," then their room should follow suit. The Kiss The Moon Art Canvas is the ultimate declaration of the unencumbered lifestyle.
For the sporty one - Stellar Hoodie Zip-Up and Yellow Bells
Get the outfit that can do both. Soft velvet and banded arm detailing blend style and comfort to create the ultimate "California cool" vibe. The Stellar Hoodie stands out on its own but steals the show when paired with the matching Yellow Bells. The exaggerated bell-bottoms and side slits give it something extra without BEING extra.
For the humanitarian - Nice Human Pari French Terry Pullover
Keep the holiday cheer and good vibes going all year long. This sweater is the sartorial equivalent of one of those "Free hugs" signs. Which is what they'll want to give you when they wear this pullover and bask in all its cozy french terry glory.
For the 90's girl - Nirvana the Band Tee
Does it smell like teen spirit in here? This tee is for the one who believes the 90's never really ended. In fact, they'd argue that it wasn't just a decade, it was a state of mind. This cropped style is on-trend, but its vintage wash lends it just enough grunge, so you don't look like a poser. Now that's rad.

If you're looking for a true outdoor adventure then look no further. The sight of the abandoned bridge which this hike derives its name is only the tip of the iceberg. This hike is not for the novice as wading through water and an optional 10-foot bungee jump off the bridge are a part of the trail. Find out more about its history and what you need to pack for the excursion here.
Bronson Canyon- Griffith Park
Top of Mount Lee and iconic landmark of the Hollywood Sign by Daveynin | Flickr
The Bronson Canyon hike to the Hollywood sign is a must. It's cliche but looking out over the expanse of the City of Angels is also impressive in its own right. Moreso, a few trail detours lead to the Bronson Cave from Batman and the Hollywood Reservoir.

June 23rd is National Pink Day. While pink may evoke femininity or girlishness based on icons like Barbie and Marlyn Monroe, it's also been a symbol of punk and even rebellion. Even a CNN report detailed the complicated story of the color. They said, "The 150-year-old notion of pink as a synonym with fragile femininity brought forward by the West is being challenged. Pink is now having a 'cool' phase: It's hip, it's androgynous, it's strong. And it's here to stay.".
So whether you're the ultimate girly-girl or solely consist on a diet of rock n' roll, we can all celebrate the multitude of meanings behind this color. Here is our National Pink Day shopping guide.

]]>We love LA, and that's no secret here at Life Clothing Co. LA is the city where people pack up their lives into small suitcases and start a new one with hopes and dreams only this city can offer. Whether near or far, our clothing can impart a piece of the lifestyle into your wardrobe.
However, we'd like to take it a step further from time to time and give you a taste of some of the happenings in our home city. This past week we attended the newly minted WE RISE Festival. Now, this isn't your typical "festival" with girls in face jewels and ten people fighting over a water-filling station before the next set comes on. Instead, this is an occasion where artists, musicians, health experts, and city leaders come together to engage in conversation about mental health.
WE RISE
Mental health has garnered a lot more attention as of late. Many Instagrammers, bloggers, and others in the spotlight have shared their experience with anxiety, depression, amongst others. Yet, it can feel like there's still a stigma attached to it. That's what WE RISE hopes to change.
WE RISE states that they are "A 10-day pop-up immersive experience that brings together LA's diverse community to explore our collective power to live lives of purpose and engagement. Through powerful programming, performances, immersive workshops, and a world-class art exhibition, we seek to embolden individuals and families to find help, reach out to help others and demand systemic change in order to address the critical need for early intervention, treatment, and care for mental wellbeing."
Art speaks
While this can seem like a heavy topic at times, there were so many unique events that fostered a sense of positivity and togetherness. From "Radical Body Love Yoga" to a discussion on "The Healthy Grind: Balancing The Hustle," to a screening of "Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405" to the rooftop AfroHaus Brunch, WE RISE utilized art both in physical and spoken form to provoke thoughts and discourse.
Many pieces in the art exhibition seemed to speak to Millennials and Gen Z who are having to come to terms with growing up and the complexities of navigating that "loss of innocence."
Navigating adulthood is no easy feat, and it's natural to feel nostalgic for a simpler time without the constant barrage of notifications, news updates, and over-connectedness.
1-800-Connect, Chase @theartofchase
This artist paints old LA pay phones as an homage to the days before cellphones. He says "I feel pay phones represent a certain time period that was free and innocent in certain ways, without the constant distractions that keep us from being fully present in the moment.
Social media has been instrumental in many positive aspects of our culture. On the other hand, it has been a culprit in the rising rates of mental and social disorders, which is why it was a focus at the festival.
Artist Dana uses figures and diagrams that illustrate the correlation between social media and loneliness and other poignant topics surrounding burgeoning adulthood.
WE RISE hopes to normalize the conversation about mental health and give people the tools to care for themselves and others while giving people a voice through art and other means of expression. Stay tuned to see our next update on what's happening in LA.
]]>Life Clothing Co. is meant to unleash the free spirit in all of us. Through it, the Southern California/ Los Angeles sensibility is alive and well. Our girl lives life on her own terms and plays everything by her own rules. She's wild, she's free, and she answers to no one. More so, she'd rather have flowers in her hair than diamonds around her neck.
But, she does realize that the perfect outfit isn't anything without the perfect jewelry. So, that's why we introduce to you the Life Clothing Co. Jewelry and accessories line. We're the collectors of all things unique and enjoyable. Now, we are bringing you hand-crafted jewelry that can help you showcase your style in a new way.
Paired with your favorite Life Clothing Co. outfits, or on its own, these pieces are meant to showcase YOU. What do you want to share with the world? Is it a punky ring that shows them who' the boss? Or, is it a tassel earring that adds the finishing touch to your festival outfit? Whatever the occasion may be, we've got something for you. Now, let's play dress up. Click here to shop now.
Lazy Days Elevado Tee
This tee is a classic for a reason! This vintage-inspired tee has a slightly loose and oversized fit making it easy and breezy for summer. Because truly, summer is just a collection of gloriously sunny lazy days. In fact, you could even say that this should be THE shirt of the season, but I won't get carried away...
Janis Joplin San Francisco Sunset Hoodie
The fact that winter has lasted way longer than it feels it should breaks another little bit of my heart. Good news is that our Janis Joplin Sunset Hoodie is here, even though we're still waiting on that sun. This relaxed style in the softest jersey fabric will be more than a one-hit wonder in your wardrobe. Besides, this pairs perfectly with denim cutoff shorts in the day or some bells for those cooler nights.
Velour Rainbow Hoodie
This plush grey hoodie kept us going through the fall and winter months, but we're holding onto this a little longer. Arguably, this soft sweater is cozy enough for lazy days and even better as a swimsuit cover-up. Wear it to the pool or after a jump in the ocean and show off your sporty side with the athletic detailing.
Grateful Dead Flared Romper
This romper is business in the front and party in the back. Which is pretty much a metaphor for everyone who is still attempting to live up your summer nights while working a 9-5. We're right there with you, and we believe in you too. That being said, wear this romper with a jacket in the day, then toss it off and let the romper come out to play at night.
Enna Woven Slit Bells
Our wide-legged favorite put a little spring in our step, but we're cruising through summer with these vintages vibes. The side-slit adds movement, making these pants anything but basic. The Enna Bells can either be dressed up for sunset rooftop drinks or dressed down with a graphic tee for day. Either way, sartorially you can't go wrong.
The ban on plastic straws and bags that are slowly sweeping the nation is not the beginning of modern environmentalism. While much attention has been placed on going green as of late, the seventies produced environmentalist movement and the first Earth Day. Amazingly, it garnered so much attention that mere months later, President Richard Nixon formed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Then, the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act followed suit.
Now, Earth Day is a day of appreciation, awareness, and action to protect our planet. The dedication of April 22nd every year to Planet Earth has created a profound impact. Here are a few fun ways in which you can reduce your carbon footprint. Ultimately, you may decide to incorporate these practices into your life every day. But trust us; if you make a difference ANYDAY, the Earth will thank you.
Walk or bike to your destination
Keep your car in the garage for one trip or errand one day. You can use this opportunity to get some fresh air. Bonus points if you can take a route through nature. Moreover, if you can bring a friend along then, you'll squeeze in some quality time.
Take an outdoor workout class
If you have a beach or park nearby, then inquire about whether they host have work out classes. Your body and mind will appreciate getting away from those machines at the gym for once.
Buy a reusable coffee cup
The fun truly lies in picking out which coffee cup(s) you want to be your staple. Make sure it is an extension of your personality; whether that means it's a multi-colored glitter cup or one that reads, "I hate mornings."
Have a grill day outside
Gather your friends for a BBQ. Although, the only catch here is to make it meatless. Did you know that it takes an estimated 1,700 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef? Going meatless one day a week can reduce risk of disease, maintain healthy body weight, and reduce greenhouse gasses. Use this chance to get creative with making your favorite dishes vegetarian and see who can whip up the tastiest one.
Thrift
Sick of the mall and the risk of having the same outfits as everyone else on Instagram? Explore some thrift shops around town and pick up some unique garments and accessories to spice up your current threads. This practice will breathe new life into your existing wardrobe and give a new home to an item that's at risk of ending up in a landfill.
Spring and Break are two of the most beautiful words ever to be spoken in the English language. What is better than sunshine, escaping the day-to-day grind, and exploring more than your Instagram feed? The problem is that the world is cruel and once you walk across that stage at graduation life strips you of your spring break privileges. But, truly everyone deserves a little time off as the season changes. That being said, I think that we should then we should take back what's rightfully ours! Here are the reasons why you should always "Spring Break" no matter what.
You're still in college
First things first, if you're still in school then there are no excuses. Spring Break is a week off with no homework and responsibilities. TAKE IT. One day you'll be in the real world and wish that you could take time off. Whether you spend it on a beach in Mexico, on a family trip camping, or international travel, don't let this time pass you up.
Spring is a time of renewal
The seasons are changing, and the dark stormy skies of winter are turning blue. And if they're not blue, that's even more of an excuse to see some sunshine. As Robin Williams famously said, "Spring is nature's way of saying 'let's party.'" Also, the ancient Romans and Greeks made it a ritual to celebrate the transition of season. So who's to argue with that?
Traveling sparks your creativity
Taking a step away from routine and opens the mind to new and exciting ideas. When you do the same thing day in and day out, then your brain goes on autopilot. Our brains are incredible and are always looking for ways to save energy and mental bandwidth. This tactic is great for our daily tasks but terrible for creativity. It's time to shake it up!
Taking time off boosts productivity
You're not a hero if you push yourself too hard at work and burn out. Most of us are expected to be on all the time which isn't healthy. We need time to decompress and genuinely enjoy some time off. As kids, we get Summer vacation, Fall break, Christmas, and Spring break. When we grow up, we don't magically outgrow that need to recharge and come back refreshed. If anything we need it MORE as adults.
You've earned it
Back to the adulting thing...it's challenging! You deserve a little time to play. Even it only means spending a few days at a friend's place an hour away. Or, get a beach vacation on Groupon and experience another culture. Either way, find a way to spend a little time where you can have a drink in one hand and set your e-mail's auto-reply to "out of the office."
Pop LA
Our first event will take place Sunday, March 31st at Pop LA from 12-6pm. Fauxchella Trunk Show
Need to get Coachella ready? We know you do. That's why we're throwing the Fauxchella Trunk Show at the rooftop of Above Sixty Beverly Hills. Join us by the pool for April 6th from 1pm-5pm. There will be a DJ, curated cocktail and food menu, and hair braiding booth. Admission is $5 and gets you access to the party and shopping from Life Clothing Co., The Giving Keys, Project Social T, Sage La Rock, and Suja. Come kick off festival season with us!
We think spring CLEANING is just as important as spring SHOPPING. So, we can't wait to see you there!
St. Patty's Day has us dreaming of shamrocks, good luck, and green beer. We love to partake in the holiday honoring Irish culture and the value of a good time. Interestingly enough, the good-natured Irish do CELEBRATE on March 17th, it's the Americans who have taken the St. Patty's Day "party hard" stereotype to another level. So, where are the best places to travel to get a good dose of history and a shot of Jameson on the side? Read on.
Dublin
First, on the list, of course, is the Irish capital. The celebratory Irish folk spends not one, but FOUR days celebrating their culture with the most colorful parade in the world. Over 500,000 partygoers join in Dublin on March 14th-17th to sing, dance, drink and watch 17 iconic buildings light up emerald green. In fact, this has become a pilgrimage of sorts to people of Irish ancestry all over the world. St. Patrick's Day is the one day during Lent that those participating do not have to adhere to their restrictions, giving them full reign to celebrate.
New York City
New York hosts the oldest and largest St. Patty's Day parade in the U.S. Actually, this celebration has been around 14 years before the institution of America. The displaced homesick Irish immigrants and military members stationed in New York led the first NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1762. At the time, there was a ban on Irish pride in Ireland. So, during the first parade, participants wore green freely, spoke Irish Gaelic, and took part in all the things they missed about home. Now, people from all over come to watch the 257-year-old parade and then hit the pubs nearby.
Bueno's Aires
I know what you're thinking. Go to Argentina for some luck of the Irish? Surprisingly, Argentina is home to South America’s largest Irish population. That number is close to half a million. Lately, there has been a resurgent interest in the Irish culture. This pride is evident on St. Patty's Day in the Retiro neighborhood of Buenos Aires, where many immigrants originally settled.
Chicago
One of the most prominent St. Patty's Day celebrations in the U.S, the city is most famous to dyeing the Chicago River a shimmering emerald. Urban legend had it that leprechauns were responsible for it. It turns out; it is the Butler and Rowan families who have been doing it for the last 50 years. The only way to participate in in the tradition is by blood or marriage. Although, the entire city turns out to kick off the festivities.
Boston
The city's basketball team is the Celtics...need we say more? The significant number of Irish descents in the capital of Massachusetts is responsible for the 51 Irish pubs in Boston alone. Each year, the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day, South Boston has a full celebration. A parade, live music, and shenanigans make for an epic Sunday Funday.
Valentine's Day is approaching and, depending on your relationship status; it can make you feel a certain kind of way. Cupid may not have struck you in the heart, but that doesn't mean you can't still fall in love. In fact, there are so many other things besides a significant other that can give you heart eyes.
Some of those are:
Your Friends
Those friends that are like family are treasures, cherish them. Many have gotten you through rough times, created new memories with you, and helped you become the person you are now.
Where You Live
Fall in love with the city in which you live. Establish your favorite spots, learn about its history, and love it based on why you're here. Is it because it allows you to follow your dreams? Do you like the weather? Does your family live here?
What You Do
If you're passionate with your chosen career, then bravo! That's a reason to celebrate. If you cannot find a reason to fall in love with what you do, then see what fulfills you. Then, pursue it- even if it's a side gig. Life is too short to be spent in a cubicle with people who you'd rather have a voodo doll of in your desk than spend happy hour with.
Your Freedom
Want to pack up and move across the country? What about book a plane ticket to Costa Rica because you felt like it? You can. Get a pet if you want to, cut your hair if you feel like it! You have the gift of doing what you wish to, (mostly) without the opinion of anyone else. One day, you'll be a part of a beautiful love story, but you'll have to worry about whether that person prefers cats or dogs.
Traveling
Where does your soul ache to go? Whether it's a new beach town a few hours up the coast, or a two two-month long Roman holiday, work towards it making it happen. Remember all that freedom we talked about previously? Allow it to take you somewhere new where you can fall in love with its people and places.
YOU
Your relationship with yourself is the most important one you have. Spend time on self-care and self-love. Drink your favorite wine, take yourself to dinner, read your favorite book, and fall in love with what makes you, you.
Cozy sweater
It’s still cold outside- even in LA. So we’re loving these comfy sweaters that pair perfectly with pants, or can be thrown over shorts if the weather calls for it.

Printed kimono
You've left 2018 behind and now you're feeling free. This light whimsical piece reflects that. This can be layered over any long or short sleeved tees of your choosing. It also will take you all the way to Coachella with a bralette or bikini top.
Band tee
Set free your inner rockstar with these band tees. Whether dream of being a modern-day Janis or idolize The Rolling Stones, there’s a tee for you.

Fall fashion has to be one of our favorite parts of the seasons changing. Trading bikinis for bell bottoms and printed florals for plaid doesn’t have to be so bad. In fact, it can be fun. It may just be the only solace that Summer has ended. Read on for our must-have trends for the season.
Mad About Plaid
Plaid will forever be a Fall fashion staple. Only this time, it’s looking a little less lumberjack, and a little more 90's with this stylish romper. We’re also loving how plaid can lend an all over 70’s look depending on the silhouette.
Jewel Tones
Say goodbye to the punchy brights of spring and summer, and say hello to the world of jewel tones. Muted colors that mimic the vibrant colors of nature transform every look for fall and winter.
Luxe Fabrics
Boho goes luxe with the addition of glossy velvet fabric. Crushed and printed velvet adds a luminous quality while the heavier fabric creates warmth during those crisp Autumn days.
Printed Bell Bottoms
Fall is all about being cozy- while looking cute of course. These boho- inspired hippie bells are the perfect addition to your wardrobe. Their versatility allows them to be paired with anything from a cool jacket and crop top for going out to a comfy sweatshirt for lounging.
The Perfect Graphic Tee
Graphic tees know no season! Stay stylish year-round with Life’s signature graphics. It’s the perfect pairing item to go with your new Fall staples, all while adding some personality to your look.
Something is enchanting about the idea of dropping everything and running away to start new. This classic will indulge that fantasy (or perhaps fuel it). This riveting story details the life of Christopher Johnson McCandless, who rids himself of his material possessions and the constraints that they held over him. Get lost on your own adventure in this book as it will strip reality out of your mind, and place you into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.
To Shake the Sleeping self Jedidiah Jenkins
This memoir has been called, “A soul-stirring read for the dreamer in each of us.” On the cusp of turning, 30 this Instagram influencer takes his bike on a 16 month journey from Oregon to Patagonia, southernmost tip of South America. This book details stories of knowledge he gathered and people he enountered along the 14,000 miles. This truly embodies the idea that, “You have to get lost to be found.”
Behind the crisp white tablecloths, the polished silver, and the perfectly crafted steak and cocktails, lies the secret world of the food and beverage industry. Tensions run high during service and when you put people under pressure in an environment with overflowing amounts of gluttony and liquor-You stand back and watch it simmer.
Who would’ve thought that a book about the modern phenomenon of ghosting would make the perfect book for a lazy Fall afternoon? It’s not just the story itself that’s good, but the storytelling. When you read each word, a vivid image plays in your head, and in each of the characters, you also see yourself. That’s because this my dear is modern romance. You may think, why read a book about reality? That’s because the truth is sometimes the most shocking and believe me, you don’t know the ending yet.
This book definitely blows the self-help genre out of the water. If the name is not already evidenced enough, then the peppering of swear words and her colorful wit will be. By unveiling her personal story, she sheds light on how our subconscious ideas of self are limiting our ability to live our best lives. In the end, You Are a Badass is like getting the most empowering pep talk from your favorite crazy aunt.

We do the work so you don’t have to. So, now you have more time to perfect that gin and tonic recipe, all while doing so in style.
]]>Cancer

Virgo

Sagittarius
Believe in your strengths. Everyone sees them, but it’s time that you do too. This month you’ll realize that deep down, under layers of false bravado, you may find you have fears that are affecting how you behave in life. Maybe it’s a fear of inadequacy that’s holding you back. Or, a feeling that things never work out for you. This month you’ll find that your subconscious is driving you in ways you may not have notice. Take control of your inner life and you’ll create an outer life that works for you.
Capricorn
You love work. In fact, you’ve probably turned what you love into a job. But, what happens when you stop chasing that next mountain that you can summit? What if you just enjoyed the view from the top for a while? This month express yourself, fall in love, fall out of love, be creative for the hell of it and do more things that make you happy. By giving into the present you may actually find more inner peace than just seeing what else you can take on.
Aquarius
Summer is all about home and family for you. But, not in that warm and fuzzy Mom just cooked dinner kind of way. You’ll be confronted with areas in which your home no longer aligns with your current self. That could mean literally moving out of your current home, or letting go of beliefs from your past that no longer bring you warm feelings. You’re growing up and you’re allowed to change; you just need people and space that will allow that.
Pisces
Ahhh another sign whose perceptions of the world around them will change. Seems like there’s a pattern right? Summer, we’re onto you. Pisces, your mind is whirring with new thoughts, feelings and perceptions. And, you don’t know what to do with it. Be the boss of your own life, trust your intuition regarding these new feelings and don’t forget to practice self-care and take mental breaks to unwind.
Taurus
This Summer you may need to shake things up. The bull may be one for loving its creature comforts, but don’t allow yourself to fall into complacency. Take a risk and live in your own truth, regardless of what others think/expect to you!
Gemini
This month will be one of discovery, particularly in regards to your perception of life as you know it. This may sound dramatic, but it can be fun. Opening your mind can be scary at first, but realizing you have old beliefs that no longer serve you can be freeing. Trust your intuition during this, let things go and you may be lighter than air by the time September rolls around.

There are a few things better than longer days and warm Summer nights, except drinking. And not just any drinking, but drinking outdoors. On a rooftop. While having brunch, partaking in happy hour, or enjoying the stars, here are the best rooftops in the U.S to grab a beverage and celebrate LIFE!
Downtown Los Angeles, California

If you’re in that New York state of mind but have one problem….you’re on the west coast, then look no further than Perch. The vibe of people mix and mingling after work in the big city just screams East Coast. But, this is LA and that means everyone from a filmmaker in a ripped t-shirt and fedora is having a conversation with a dude who spent the last 7 hours looking at legal documents. Basically, in LA anything, and anyone goes. While this place is stunning in the daytime, come and night and take in the jaw-dropping downtown skyline while sipping a pre-prohibition era cocktail from a coup glass.
Hollywood, California

Hands down the best place to enjoy rooftop cocktails at sunset in the greater Los Angeles area. Okay it’s not the beach and I know that usually takes the win. But, TRUST. Maybe it’s because the table and chairs line the rooftop in varying pops of colors and it just screams summer. Or it’s the day beds you’ll bundle up under a Mexican blanket with your girls once the night falls and cool air sets in. And when you’re three deep in peach white wine sangrias you’ll be overcome with a sense of awe of this crazy city that surrounds you. Or you’ll realize you’re just drunk.
Phoenix, Arizona

Being outside in Phoenix in the SUMMER? How dare we make this suggestion right? Fear not, all Phonecian establishments are aware of the fact that heat rises and yes you are in fact on a rooftop. That means cool light dishes and cool hard drinks are on the menu. Also, there will always be water present, and not just in a glass. The skybox is great once night falls, but while it’s still sweltering the pool will keep you cool. Voted one of the best pools in Phoenix, they are known for their 60-foot water wall and a bubbling hydro spa that holds 50 people. Make friends, drink alcoholic horchata milkshakes and be merry.
Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas, you’re so extra. Voodoo is classic, over the top Vegas, just how Mama used to make it, only on a rooftop. Which makes it 1,000x better. Let’s face it those city lights are pretty impressive from the street, but what about from thousands of feet above? Brilliant. This place has dinner, dancers, fishbowl cocktails and all your Vegas staples. Even better, Voodoo turns into a nightclub. So, you really can get a place that does both.
POV Rooftop Lounge and Terrace at the W
Washington D.C

Who needs a tour of the White House when you can hit up the other W, W hotel that is. Instead of standing with sweaty tourists crowding in front our great nation’s landmarks you can keep cool with some seasonal cocktails. Cocktails are trendy interior design are not good reasons to miss out on a history lesson. But, you can maybe plea for an extension on that lesson because the POV rooftop lounge actually has views of the White House and the aforementioned monuments. Sounds like you’re in for a live episode of Drunk History.
Lower East Side Manhattan, New York

Few things are cooler than Mr. Purple when it comes to rooftop drinking in NYC. I mean, it is in the lower East Side which screams “I’m not trying to be cool, I am this cool.” The pool deck has expansive views of Manhattan that beg you to stay a little bit longer…and order just one more drink. Even inside, the decor is trendy, but inviting and the sweeping windows give it an airy feel. Also, the food here is killer so this place isn’t all style and no substance.

There are two types of people in this world: those who like camping, and those who do not. For some there’s nothing like being down and dirty with Mother Nature and living off the land. For others, this is a punishment worse than death. But, fear not my Summer adventurers. There is a way you can have the best of both worlds- Glamping a.k.a Glamorous Camping.
Glamping brings together the experience of being outdoors with a little more amenities. Places have been popping up all over the United States where you can book a tent, cabin, even a trailer so you can sleep in a bed, have access to a restroom and can still end the night fireside unlike a traditional hotel. But, if you’re looking to simply elevate your camping experience here are some fun ways to vamp it up.
Not Your Average Tent
These new an improved tents are sturdy, waterproof and a blank canvas for a comfy daybed, some cute blankets and is perfect for hanging string lights.
Ditch the Sleeping Bag
Instead go for a daybed that all the girls can crash on. Don’t forget all the comfy blankets and pillows!
Rug
Lay down a rug in your tent for a pop of color, but also so your feet hit something soft and cozy first thing out of bed.
String Lights
Battery-powered ones will add a little pizazz to your space.
Music
Bluetooth speakers will keep the campsite bumping. Bonus points for bringing one these new portable Crosley record players.
Solar Powered Charger
You want to selectively unplug, not be forced to due to dead batteries. This one is less than $20
Hammock
Nap time under a shaded tree? Sounds like a great idea to us.
Fancy a picnic?
Grab a picnic basket that comes with cutlery and dishes so you have everything portable and ready to go in one place. A picnic blanket to sprawl out on works for mealtime, but also a place to lounge and read, drink, whatever. Add on some outdoor pillows and you’ve got a full-on lounge area
Portable Kitchen
Yes, you read that right. There is a portable kitchen you can take with you that has a gas stove, sink and more.
Portable Bar
It’s a bar in a briefcase! Carry all your bar tools with ease and make craft cocktails any and everywhere.
See, camping doesn’t have to be rough! Just a few upgrades and you’ve got an experience everyone can get on board with.

That being said, you need the right looks to accompany you on all your galavanting this season. Look no further than these must-have trends.
Side-Slit Skirts and Dresses
This Summer we’re showing a little leg. It may have been years since Angelina Jolie’s right leg went viral at the Oscars, but we’re totally feeling those vibes. Side-slits injects a little interest, and a healthy dose of sass, in the most basic of looks.
Two- Piece Sets
The two-piece is not just for swimsuits only. Flash a little midriff in and out of the pool in the ultimate Summer look. These sets have been around for a while, but this time we’re seeing them in various, cuts, lengths and styles. This season is all about taking it easy and what is easier than an outfit that takes the guesswork out of getting dressed.
Midi-Length
Summer is all about baring it all, but the midi-length is garnering some attention. This look is so cute it’s Mom-approved. Look like a lady in dresses and skirts that hit below the knee. Floral print and button-down fronts add some more sweetness without being saccharine
The Loose Pant
Comfort is key when you’re running back and forth between jumps in the ocean and chilling on the sand. These pants work great as swimsuit cover-ups but also can be dressed up with the right top and worn for day or night. Talk about versatility.
Jumper
We love the jumper/jumpsuit situation that is happening right now. Once again, this piece is all you need and you’ve got your outfit. Feeling like a sartorial overachiever? Add a few accessories for extra credit and you’re all set.
It’s Summertime and the living’s easy, that’s why your outfit should be too.
]]>Whether you were able to attend, or Coachella isn’t your scene, there is a lineup up festivals this Summer that will make you want to take a road trip for a song.
Lightning in a Bottle- California Central Coast
May 24-27
Want to dance your face off and soul search all in the same place? Then look no further than LIB festival. One of the most unique set-ups, this event places emphasis on music, food, art, yoga AND wellness. In recent years, much of the buzz surrounding the experience was about attendees’ moments of self-actualization and connectedness, not the partying and music. But, they aren’t skimping on the tunes this year with big name acts such as ZHU, Anderson. Paak and Girrafage. Hit up one of these sets then head over to a creative painting workshop, a seminar or a vegan cooking class. Here at LIB, you really can have it all.
Electric Daisy Carnival- Las Vegas. Nevada
May 18-20
Do dreamy synths and bass drops make you go wild? When the right beat hits and the lights wash all over you do you feel most alive? If so, it may be time to check out the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Situated off the strip at the Motor Speedway, EDC is like Vegas on drugs- beautiful euphoria-inducing drugs. The biggest names in electronic music like Alan Walker, Flux Pavilion, Diplo and more will be performing under one of the most amazing light shows you’ll ever see. When the fireworks go off mid-festival you’ll understand why they say, “Meet me under the electric sky.”
Governors Ball- New York, NY
June 3–5
The New York Times dubbed Governor’s Ball, “A festival with a New York heart.” Now what exactly does that mean? A festival with a plethora of pizza options? A festival with fast walkers and talkers? While yes, the food scene is unparalleled, it is more than that. The well-curated festival celebrates not only music, but also New York’s contribution to the art scene. In fact, each borough is represented with its musical acts but its entire presentation. As America’s largest city, it is wild that this is New York’s only big-ticket festival and it's in its infancy at only 8 years old. Here at Governor’s Ball you'll experience NYC in a way a tour guide never could.
Bonnaroo- Manchester, TN
June 7–10
Bonnaroo proves that three days isn’t enough with its impressive four days of music in the backroads of Tennessee. This isn’t the rich hippies and fashion glitterati that is at the forefront of the Coachella scene. This is a down and dirty Southern experience. From camping, to the funky lineup that will showcase everyone from Muse, Eminem, and Kaskade, this is the ultimate good time. Everyone just wants to vibe out and DGAF about the actual “scene.”
Lollapalooza- Chicago, IL
August 2–5
One of the most diverse musical lineups come together every year at Grant Park in the Windy City for three days of raging. Lolla has its roots in rock and roll as it was founded by Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell in the early nineties. It has since expanded as a must-attend for anyone who wants a weekend of music, beer and world-famous Chicago pizza. You may have to brace yourself for the humidity, but the rocker vibes from acts like the Artic Monkeys, Chvches and Post Malone will keep you cool.
Splash House- Palm Springs, California
June 8-10, August 10-12
A music festival in the sweltering Palm Desert heat sounds like a death wish we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemy. But, Splash House decided to ditch the Empire Polo Fields for a three-day poolside soiree. Even better, the house DJ sets all take place at the Renaissance, the Riviera Resort and the Saguaro. So, feel like taking a nap, getting a snack or changing your “outfit” that just isn’t quite working? Literally go upstairs! Or take a quick shuttle back to your room at the other hotels. Partying has never been more convenient.
HARD Summer- San Bernardino, California
August 4-5
Image by Shaneplustwo via Wikipedia Commons
If EDM and hip-hop had a baby it would be HARD Summer. The Los Angeles Times calls it, “L.A’s definitive dance festival.” Interestingly enough, Hard Summer’s roots started when founder Gary Richards used to throw underground raves in Santa Monica in years past. As EDM rose in popularity it snowballed into downtown Los Angeles’s first festival of its kind in 2007. Now, the festival is being held in San Bernardino and will surely have its usual recipe of killer acts, carnival rides and watering holes galore.
Outside Lands- San Francisco, CA
August 11–13
Image by Alejandro De La Cruz via Flickr
The San Franciscan Outside Lands has become almost a farewell to mainstream Summer festival season. The sunny Golden City days are met by cool foggy nights that are perfect sweater weather. Some of the biggest names in music like The Weeknd, Florence + The Machine and Odeza will rock out for the crowds for three days. But, that is not all; comedy shows, quirky activities and exhibits will keep the crowds occupied between musical acts. Time Out LA informed us that there is a beautiful creation called, “Cheese Lands” and a wine-themed mini golf course. Could it get any better? We don’t think so.
From New York to California, there will be enough festivities to keep everyone singing and dancing all summer. That being said, festival season begins now… and it’s going to be one hell of a Summer!
