By the time that first leave falls to the ground, it is all chunky scarves and pumpkin spice lattes. If you're in LA like us, the most dramatic color change will be in your wardrobe, more than the foliage. But, regardless of your geographic location, there are so many simple pleasures to enjoy this season. Here are some festivities that will make you "fall" for Fall.
Head to the Pumpkin Patch
As I'm sure you've seen from all of your Instagram feeds..it's time to hit the pumpkin patch. Whether you're there to find a pumpkin to carve, or just to get some cute pictures, a day around the haystacks always gives us that Fall feeling.
Carve Pumpkins
If you did grab one of those perfect little pumpkins, get creative and carve your own jack o' lantern.
Celebrate Oktoberfest
St. Patty's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Oktoberfest....we Americans love to adopt other nations' reasons to party. Celebrate in your local Oktoberfest or even just grab a good stout or German beer. Throw a Bavarian pretzel and 'tis the season.
Go to Trader Joe's
Taste all the flavors of Fall at your local grocery store. The delectable taste of pumpkin cheesecake, maple leaf cookies, candy corn popcorn, Fall zucchette pasta, and pumpkin tortilla chips are just a sampling of all the treats they have to offer.
Go Apple Picking
Another excuse to get outside, maybe jump in a pile of leaves or two, is a day spent apple picking. Enjoy the fruits of your labor* and enjoy them as some cider, a pie, or fresh right off the tree.
*pun definitely intended.
Burn Some Scented Candles
Fill the air with aromas of spicy cinnamon, Honeycrisp apples, and sweet pumpkin.
Spend a Day Watching or Tailgating a Football Game
Even if you're not a college or professional football fan, spend a day in team colors and feel the camaraderie. Add in some corn hole in a university parking lot, or mozzarella sticks and a cold one at the bar and you've got a good day on your hands.
